Skyland is a neighborhood in North Denver. MLK Jr Blvd bounds it to the north, York St to the west, E 23rd Ave to the south & Colorado Boulevard to the east. Between 1915 & 1929, development of City Park & a trolley line along 34th Avenue launched both areas into the first of two significant periods of construction. The second dominant era of building homes ran from 1945 to 1959. One-story brick homes, similar to the structures built in many of the post-war subdivisions characterized the era.

Skyland Community Amenities

City Park Golf is a historic 18-hole regulation golf course located south of the neighborhood. Access to City Park itself is an excellent plus, with the green spaces, lake, pavilion, zoo, museum, and IMAX theater. There are no significant malls in the neighborhood, but there are still some places to shop around the major roads. Skyland is especially close to the shops of Colfax and the restaurants of areas just to the west. It’s only a few minutes from downtown and those surrounding neighborhoods, so it’s not at all cut off by car. You can visit The Plimoth a local eatery with seasonal New American menu & rustic decor like reclaimed-wood counters. Denver has an average of 300 sunny days a year especially great for outdoor activities. You can go to J Langston Boyd Park and enjoy the various trails with your friend and family.

Skyland Schools

If you plan on moving in with your family in Skyland Colorado, here are some schools that you can consider enrolling your kids in. Columbine Elementary School, Manual High School, McAuliffe International and Whittier ECE-8 School. 53.22% of the society attained a college degree while 90.2% of the community have a high school diploma. Colorado has a SchoolChoice program which is useful if you want to transfer your kids to another school.
