Valverde is a neighborhood that is bordered on the west by Federal Boulevard, on the north by 6th Avenue, and on the south by West Alameda Avenue. The eastern border is the South Platte River. The name, Valverde, means “green valley” and reflects what early residents must have seen in the area. Half the neighborhood is industrial, and one of its most notable “residents” is the King Soopers supermarket distribution center. The neighborhood is bounded by Federal on the west.
Valverde offers four parks that you and your family may enjoy. These are the Phil Milstein park, Barnum East park, West-Bar-Val park and the Valverde park. Valverde also has some restaurants spread out all through the neighborhood that you and your family might want to check out like the Columbine Steakhouse and lounge, El Rancherito, Grandpas’s burger haven, Empress seafood, Little Caesars Pizza and Las Tortugas.

Valverde Elementary School, West High School, and Compass Academy. 15.89% of the residents attained a college degree while 58.4% of the community has acquired a high school diploma.
